Paper, Please: Coasters

I really, really, REALLY love Paper-Source. We just got the store in the town next to mine, and since they’ve opened I’ve visited more times than I care to admit. The first time I ever saw the sign for it going up there I just about drove off the road. Too exciting to handle!

Anyways, they recently announced a new line of custom made coasters for events. These are an untraditional item that are such an awesome idea! The perfect touch to any party.

They have them for all kinds of events, from graduation parties to weddings to birthday parties to family reunions. They also have personalized ones as hostess gifts, which I think is an awesome gift that any entertainer would love to receive! I mean, they’re totally useful and oh-so-adorable and whimsical.

What I also love about these is that you can customize the color of the font and choose either matte or foil-metallic inks. So cool! I also think they’re reasonably priced for how incredibly awesome they are!

Here are some of my favorites:

Preppy Product: Tervis Tumblers

Ok so I am a BIG fan of Tervis Tumblers. They are just a perfect cup for on the go. I do have to say that I’m really weird about these and usually only like to drink of of them via a straw. But anyways, they’re the perfect on the go cup.

Whether you use them for hot or cold drinks, they keep your beverage to temperature. One of the best things about them, too, is that they don’t condensate! I also love how they come in so many sizes, have tops that fit them, and that you can also attach a handle to them to make them more “mug like”.

These tumblers come in an endless array of designs. So many of them are so super cute. You can get them with your monogram, with your sorority letters, for a sports team, for a holiday, for a school…the list goes on and on! Here are some really cute selections:

Monogrammed Tervis Tumblers | Vineyard Vines Tervis Tumbler | Snow Leopard Tervis Tumbler | Frog Tervis Tumbler | Beach Chair Tervis Tumbler | Sorority Tervis Tumbler | American Flag Tervis Tumbler | Santa Tervis Tumbler | Sport Team Tervis Tumbler

Wouldn’t it be great if Lilly Pulitzer paired with TT? I love the Vineyard Vines ones, but Lilly ones would be even better!

Which is your favorite? Do you use a TT? What’s your favorite to go cup?

Paper, Please!: Valentines

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and that can only mean one thing – lots and lots of Happy Heart Day cards!

Cards are one of the best things about this special holiday and I always love sending them to everyone. Every person deserves to get a card on this day and feel special and loved.

I did a post about cards from Card Store for the holidays, so here are some of their (many) amazing V-Day cards!:

Monday Getaway: The City of Love

Over winter break, my whole QU class went to London, Paris, and Italy.

I had taken a trip very similar to this one in high school, so I didn’t go and stayed in the class because it was with my favorite professor.

However, I am totally jealous that the class got to go to Paris.

I have heard really mixed reviews about this spot – some people saying they love it and it’s gorgeous and amazing, others saying the people are rude and it’s dirty.

Either way, I want to go and form my own opinions.

Paris seems so elegant and perfect. It’s called the city of love and I can’t wait to go there one day. Paris is particularly on my mind this week because it’s Valentine’s week. What could be more romantic than a getaway to the Eiffel Tower?

Best of Break

Break is officially over and I’m back at school ready for a great semester.

However, I wanted to take a minute to reflect on how great break was!

Here were my favorite things:

Christmas – duh! It was a great day with friends and family. I loved all the things surrounding Christmas as well, from baking to gift wrapping to gingerbread cookie decorating!

Internship – what a great opportunity. I learned so much and met great people. The best part of all is that I learnt so much about myself as a worker and gained more insight on what I want to do after graduation.

Friends & Family – by far the best thing about being home was just enjoying time with my friends and family, being silly with my sister, and having all that awesome quality time with everyone. It is so special and irreplaceable to make those memories and spend that time.

My dogs – this is a no brainer. They’re cute and cuddly and I miss them so much when I’m at school!

Champagne – I feel like I drank so much champagne this break and it was so deviantly delicious.

What were your favorite things over the holiday season?

Beauty Blitz: Detox Foods

As the holiday season is officially over, I am definitely feeling the need to diet and cleanse my system.

After consuming endless peppermint mochas, Dunkaccinos, cookies, pies, chips, candy canes, champagne, soda, and everything else that was placed in front of me…I feel so gross.

One of the best ways, in my opinion, to get rid of that gross feeling after eating all of that food is detoxing.

This time I am definitely not going too crazy with the detox, still eating some real food. I am, however, making small changes to my diet to cleanse my system.

I am trying to add foods that are strong detoxers to my diet. For instance, lemons are one of the best foods for this, so each morning I have been drinking iced or even hot lemon water when I wake up.

Other good foods to detox you naturally are fresh fruits (stay away from bananas, though), fresh veggies (especially cucumbers), garlic, ginger, green tea,  and leafy greens.

The other very important aspect to detoxing is drinking lots and lots of water. I have been running to the bathroom about 10 times a day at work (embarrassingly) because of all the water I’m drinking! But drinking all this water is a great way to flush your system of toxins and impurities and it has tons of other health benefits, too – clear skin, boosted immune system, and so on.

What ways do you cleanse your system after the inevitable holiday binge eating?

Holiday Reflections

As the holiday season begins to wind down, I can’t help but be filled with a sense of sadness that once again, Christmas time is over. This time of year always has me thinking and reflecting on the season as a whole.

This year during Christmas, I felt so incredibly busy almost the entire time. Especially once I got home from school, everything passed so quickly.

Between running around for gifts and collecting recipes to bake and doing every other daily thing, the season passed me by entirely.

I didn’t watch Frosty the Snowman, I didn’t watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I only partially decorated our Christmas tree and I did not bake have of the recipes I had pinned throughout the year, vowing I would try over Christmas.

Don’t get me wrong, I had a great Christmas. My parents got me so many amazing gifts and I loved being with my family. The day was so special, as it always is.

But I truly wouldn’t have been upset if there were zero gifts for me under the tree this year. As much as I love getting presents, it wouldn’t have mattered one little bit to me, and this is the first year I can truly say that without one ounce of hesitation.

Anyways, while reflecting on this particular holiday season, it’s gotten me thinking about the fact that maybe instead of rushing around every holiday season, it should be more of a time to slow down and enjoy family, friends, and the season in general. Isn’t that what Christmas is supposed to be about – taking time to be thankful and happy?

Next year, I am going to make a conscious effort to slow down and simply enjoy and appreciate, and I think everyone else should too.
